 require computational\, algorithmic\, and implementational \ndescriptions.
  The promise of computational models of human cognition is \nto explain an
 d predict human behavior in terms of information \nprocessing. Over the la
 st decades\, a sizeable number of studies have \nbeen successful in provid
 ing such explanations for a variety of \nperceptual\, cognitive\, and deci
 sion tasks by carefully analyzing the \nuncertainties that humans have to 
 deal with in an ambiguous world.\nThis talk will present recent results fr
 om behavioral experiments with \nhuman participants and computational mode
 ls that are aimed at \nunderstanding the relationship between how we use o
 ur visual system to \nlearn about our surroundings and how we use that inf
 ormation to guide \nour actions. Experimental paradigms range from psychop
 hysical \ninvestigations of eye movements to visuomotor scenarios that hav
 e \ncommonly been interpreted as hallmarks of fast and frugal heuristics. 
 \nCentral aspects will be formal models of learning\, quantifying inherent
  \nuncertainties with probabilistic methods\, and the balancing of interna
 l \nbehavioral costs and external task costs.
