Research interests

Our research focuses on a) the application of (novel) MR morphometric techniques for the study of brain structure in psychiatric and neurological disorders, in particular schizophrenia and depression, b) the study of genetic and environmental risk factors for psychiatric disorders and their impact on brain structure/function (incl. twin studies), and c) personality (esp. schizotypy) and their relation to biological markers. This research aims to improve our understanding of intermediate risk phenotypes for psychiatric disorders as well as biological underpinnings of high-risk states (e.g. for schizophrenia) relevant to early detection and intervention.
