Research interests

I’m interested in eye movements and their neural correlates during self-motion in natural environments with a focus on visual perceptual stability of our perception despite ongoing eye movements. I’m performing electrophysiological recordings in the macaque monkey, modeling and psychophysical experiments in humans. Furthermore, I’m working on different solutions for behavioral and cognitive training of animals in their respective home cages in order to simplify training and enrichment. Finally, I’m interested in identifying and utilizing eye movements as biomarkers in neuropsychiatric diseases. Therefore, I’m developing artificial neural networks for classifications based on big data.
