Prof. Dr. Ulrike Domahs

Research interests

In my research, I investigate cognitive and neural mechanisms underlying language processing in adults, children, multilingual, and clinical populations. One of my research topics aims to investigate the processing of rhythmical aspects of language and how rhythm influences the identification of words, the access of meaning and the interpretation of grammatical information. Collaborators on research in this area are Alexandra Jesse (University of Amherst), Mathias Scharinger (University of Marburg), Christina Kauschke (University of Marburg), Angela Grimm (University of Frankfurt), Frank Domahs (University of Erfurt), Christoph Gabriel (University of Mainz), Birgit Alber (University of Bozen).

Another topic focuses on the processing and representation of lexical and morphosyntactic complex words (collaboration with Dinah Baer-Henney, University of Düsseldorf, Stefanie Türk, Frederike Stein, and Christina Kauschke, University of Marburg) and a third strand of research addresses the interplay of spoken and written language in adults and early writing acquisition (collaboration with Frank Domahs and Fiona Weiß, University of Eichstätt).
